Production Line Manager
Location: Laois, Limerick, Tipperary
€55k, 30% shift allowance, Pension

Reporting To: Production Manager
Reporting Staff: Line Production Supervisors/ High Risk Supervisors/ All Production Staff (30 people)
Overall Job Objectives: To ensure the effective and efficient running of lines and the curing area so as to ensure that all product produced is meeting the customer’s specifications and expectations of Quality, Quantities and Delivery Schedules
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily factory production ensuring that handover from shift to shift is carried out in an efficient manner especially in relation to handoff of shortages and maintenance issues
- Liaise with HR Manager to organize staff for plan i.e. ensuring sufficient numbers and skills set
- Responsibility for ensuring that the Production Plan is executed correctly, by communicating correctly and accurately with Supervisors and staff
- Responsibility for ensuring that all staff are fully compliant with Company Quality and Health and Safety procedures on the individual shifts
- Responsibility for ensuring that all products are produced to correct specification
- Monitor and ensure that their individual shift is fully trained and adhering to Hygiene, Quality and Best Practice procedures
- Responsibility to manage staff and handle discipline issues in conjunction with HR Manager
- Responsibility to liaise with Quality Department to ensure high standards are maintained in the plant and to address any issues that arise
- Ensure Maintenance Program is carried out by liaising with Maintenance Dept
- Help drive the improvement of Product Quality, Hygiene Standards and Plant Efficiencies on each individual shift
- Ensure all plant equipment is run to its full potential and that downtime is recorded accurately and is minimized through careful planning and organization. This is especially important at shift handover
- Responsibility to ensure good Yield Control and to ensure that accurate stock systems are operating. This includes correct operation of the ERP system
- Responsibility to implement and control procedures to minimize wastage throughout the Plant ensuring adherence to the procedures at all time. This is very important in relation to giveaway
- Facilitate the implementation of any new systems as deemed necessary by organization.
- Responsibility to ensure the implementation of any lean manufacturing initiatives as required by the Company
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or a related discipline
- 6+ years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 4 years supervisory experience
- Proven experience in working within a similar role in a fast paced manufacturing environment, ideally a GMP environment
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is highly desirable
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven ability to communicate, engage, motivate, influence and build strong working relationships with people is required
