Quality Manager - Food Manufacturing

The Role:
The main focus of this role will be to ensure all products and processes are safe and in compliance with specifications, statutory obligations, customer requirements and new product development handover to the site right throughout the product life cycle.
Location: Limerick/Tipperary/Waterford
Role Responsibilities:
- Efficient delivery of all Quality requirements e.g. Audits, K.P.I reports, QAS’s, sampling compliance etc.
- Achieve set budgeted overheads
- Acknowledge, review and introduce all new products and policies in conjunction with the Technical team
- Ensuring that all products and ingredients meet customer requirements
- Co-ordination of customer technical audits and first production runs
- Ensuring the production facility meets food safety requirements to meet and exceed customer and Department of Agriculture standards
- Ensure an adequate internal audit system is implemented across the business
- Liaise with all customers and audit bodies in relation to product safety or any quality issues
- Identify & Implement cost savings that will include: alternative ingredient sourcing and trialling, line efficiency improvements and yield improvement
- Understand the company’s HACCP plan and to monitor and control this
- To ensure that all relevant site team members are appropriately trained
Person Specification:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant food science subject
- Proven track record in a Quality Management position within a food environment
- Experience of dealing with 3rd party accreditation; BRC Competent authorities; Dept of Ag & Food
- Experience in facilitating meetings both internally and externally with excellent presentation skills
- Proven track record of building good customer relations
- Up to date knowledge of current legislation, relevant to food manufacturing
- Hands on, practical individual who takes on responsibility and accountability to get the job done
- Ability to react to crisis situation quickly, efficiently and professionally
- Lead Auditor training would be an advantage
