Quality Assistant - Evening Shift

Our client in Galway is currently seeking a Quality Assistant for their Evening Shift on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to join a progressive and well-established business that has experienced significant growth in the past 5 years.

The Quality Assistant will be reporting to the Technical Manager and will help the Quality team in relation to production and other areas of the business. They will also liaise with Production Shift Supervisors and other relevant individuals as needed. The successful candidate will be part of a well established team and will have an autonomous role in a supportive environment.

Location: Clare, Galway, Mayo

Responsibilities of the role:

• Ensure reporting of Night Shift issues
• Report weekly GMP
• Complete calibration control SOP and ensure it’s in line with BRC and Bord Bia requirements
• Ensure all batch recipe record non-conformances are reported
• Monthly report to Technical Manager of fabrication audits
• Carry out mass reconciliation on incoming materials
• Oversee the production of SafeFood documents on the system and report if not filled out correctly
• Responsible for the correct running of the Glass and Perspex audits
• Conduct daily hygiene audit and monitor chill temperature
• Conduct gluten free tests if required
• Assist with metal detection sensitivities

Requirements:

• Third level Food Science qualification or similar relevant qualification
• Minimum of 1 years experience working in the food industry preferably in a Quality role
• Good communication skills and team work skills
• BRC and Retailer audit experience desirable but not essential
