Dairy Executive

Reporting to the Dairy Sector Manager the role of the Dairy Executive is to be a clear sector expert and act as a link between the organisation and the client company delivering insight, business leads and networking opportunities. The role will also involve developing and growing trade, both domestic and export for consumer dairy client companies, to provide market overviews on key dairy markets and sector issues providing up to date insight and intelligence for the sector.

Location: Dublin, Kildare, Meath 

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Design and deliver strategic annual sector and divisional plans that are relevant to clients and which identify new sales opportunities for those clients
• Be an expert for the consumer dairy sector through the accumulation, interpretation and dissemination of relevant market, consumer and sector specific news, information, research, insights and trends
• Build relationships with clients in the consumer dairy sector through the coordination of client supports including individual client plans for brand and business development
• Proactively manage the planned and actual expenditure and income targets for the consumer dairy sector budget to deliver services, supports and events that are on budget
• Undertake annual review of sector plans to measure performance
• Lead quarterly review of sector plans to ensure continued relevance to clients and proactively propose plan updates to meet any unforeseen emerging needs
• Provide sector expertise through the commission and use of qualitative and quantitative research, extracting and disseminating the knowledge to deliver key client insights
• Design, manage and execute workshops or specialised training courses that are sector relevant and recruit companies to participate
• Manage weekly schedule of targets for client meetings, on-site visits and other client contacts
• Develop individual client plans with Partner clients and coordinate the delivery of supports to those clients
• Drive the innovation agenda with those clients as a key output of their individual client plans
• Develop and maintain sector budget in accordance with planning and budget reporting processes
• Coordinate quotes and tender process for all budget spends

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Degree level qualification in relevant discipline e.g. Agriculture, Food Science etc.
• 3- 5 yrs. experience of dairy, production and markets
• Good overall understanding of Irish agriculture and food industry.
• Experience of trade market research in emerging markets
• Demonstrably excellent report writing skills and verbal presentation skills
• Willingness to travel
