Senior Sector Manager

Reporting to the Director of Food, and Beverage Strategy Planning the Senior Sector Manager will lead the development of strategy for alcohol, dairy and seafood sectors.

Location: Dublin, Kildare, Meath

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the development of the Food and Beverage Planning and Strategy Division
• Lead, develop and execute programmes that identify and deliver opportunities for the alcohol, dairy and seafood sectors
• Build and foster relationships with all relevant clients and stakeholders to enable the enhancement of the sectors’ competiveness and continue building Ireland’s reputation
• Operate progressive budget management and procurement procedures ensuring value for money with all expenditures
• Develop robust alcohol, dairy and seafood sector strategies for approval
• Identify new areas for industry attention in the alcohol, dairy and seafood sectors
• Continuously evaluate the appropriateness, efficiency and effectiveness of programmes against objectives, setting and monitoring Key Performance Indicators
• Manage budget, monitor costs and ensure maximum use of resources to provide value for money while operating within budgets
• Develop department plans and budgets within corporate planning cycles and prepare detailed breakdown of programmes and budgets for Board’s approval
• Organise and make submissions in policy areas for the alcohol, dairy and seafood sectors

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Relevant third level qualification
• 5+ years experience at a senior level in an agribusiness or marketing role
• Excellent knowledge of Irish agriculture and the Irish food industry
• Experience developing and implementing marketing strategy
• Proven leadership ability and people management experience
• Large budget and project management experience
• Sector relevant marketing experience, e.g. food, drink, seafood, dairy, meat, horticulture
