Production Supervisor - Shift Role

The Role:
- To supervise and take responsibility for a particular Production Shift in an efficient and timely manner in keeping with customer requirements
- To effectively communicate and work in conjunction with the Quality, Maintenance, Purchasing, Operations to ensure smooth daily operations and achievement of standards
- To ensure full compliance with and full support for company Quality Management System
- To actively support factory standards for the company BRC programme and all other customer audits
- To maintain and promote Health & Safety standards on an ongoing basis and promote a culture of continuous improvement
- To assist with recruitment, staff training and development of staff dealing with HR issues as they arise
- Assist with planning and staff rostering, monitor and manage time keeping attendance and management of overall staff performance
- To implement waste control and yield management systems and support all company “ lean “ initiatives
- To record and report on production metrics/ factory KPI’s and to accurately complete daily factory paperwork as required
- To manage resources in keeping with company budget requirements
- To support the company NPD programme
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and company projects and play an active part in the success of the business.
- Other ad hoc duties as may arise
Skills / Attributes / Experience:
- Previous experience in food manufacturing is essential - 5 years min
- Must be an excellent communicator - both written and verbal and a good team player
- Ability to speak a good standard of English is essential and preferably another Eastern European language also
- Must be results orientated with strong attention to detail
- Must be able to work on own initative and work under pressure at times to meet tight timelines
- Must have good people management and supervisory skills with ability to motivate staff to attain output targets
- Must be flexible in response to the needs of the business and able to work company within particular shift patterns
- Ability to problem solve and to bring forward suggestions to improve factory operations
- Good IT skills , Microsoft word , Excel etc.
