Section Leader

A new opportunity has arisen with our client, a food company based in the Dublin region. This company is excited to recruit a Section Leader for their Operations Department to take full responsibility for leading the operations team within their line to achieve the performance targets set by the Production Manager.

Location: Dublin, Kildare, Meath 

Responsibilities for this role include:

• Delivering on agreed Health and Safety KPIs ensuring that all accidents are reported and investigated.
• Deliver improved production efficiencies such as output, yield, packaging and utilities.
• Ensure company targets are achieved including technical KPIs-taking appropriate actions to resolve issues.
• Develop, train and motivate operatives ensuring the training matrix is up to date and accurate.
• Complete Team members appraisals and provide performance feedback.
• Promote employee engagement and communication.
• Carry out internal and external audits.
• Evaluate, utilize and deploy continuous improvement and lean techniques.

The key skills and knowledge required are as follows:

• Minimum 2-3 years experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• It is essential that the successful candidate has leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Third level qualification in a relevant area is desirable for this role.
• It is essential that the successful candidate is computer literate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Being a self motivated, problem solving and well organized individual is absolutely essential for this role.
• You must be willing to undertake personal development training.
• Having previous experience in people management is not essential but is highly desirable.
• Is it also highly desirable if the successful candidate has a commercial acumen with previous experience of achievement in continuous improvement.
