  Packaging Co-ordinator

The Role:

Our client is seeking a highly innovative, motivated individuals with experience in the area of packaging to join their team. This role will work closely with the commercial and New Product Development team and will also work hand in hand with the Packaging Manager.  

Role Responsibilities:

• Work with the buying and product development team to create a new and exciting range of products which will drive the business’ sales and profit
• Be a member of a team but with clear responsibility and accountability for your own work
• Work with the Packaging Manager and the buying team to identify new sources of supply needs
• Analyse market trends and share data with the commercial team to keep ahead of the market
• Co-ordinate artwork designs with all required stakeholders – Suppliers, Buyers, Product Developers, Technical Manager, Design Agencies and Print Houses
• Liaise with Suppliers on keylines and printer details as well as printers and suppliers on packaging substrates and capabilities
• Delivering artworks to all stakeholders for feedback/amends
• Coordinating all change requests back to the designers/printers and fully documenting all requests
• Project managing all stakeholders in relation to critical paths and ensuring timely delivery of packaging projects and managing expectations
• Coordinating release artwork and ensuring printers PDF’s and chromalins/colour proofs are received and re-proofed and any issues corrected
• Managing and maintaining the artwork database and packaging files –softcopy and hardcopy, and ensuring the department has full visibility and access to this
• Quality checks on packaging in store and implementing the required corrective action reports including documentation and ensuring that issues get closed off
• Responsible for collecting packaging samples of completed artworks and keeping them with hardcopy packaging files for reference

Key Skills Required:

• At least 2 years experience in product branding either within a retailer or manufacturer
• Ideally hold a degree/qualification in design and printing
• Be hard working and self motivated to deliver results and be happy working to stretching deadlines
• Be creative but with strong commercial skills
• Ability to make decisions quickly based on information and must be sufficiently assertive to justify their decisions to the commercial team and be able to resolve potential conflicts which may arise with the supplier base
